Welcome Lichess Bots

@Phyisis That is a good point, but I think the bot accounts adapt to the players moves. Have a few rounds with the bos, they play a different opening and you will reach a different variation every time.

If you still can remember the correct line, then you are a good chess player and deserve the rating :)

Cheers!
@EvilChess, the "Lichess Bots are for" section of the blog posts lists several different things, only one of which (chess engines) fits what I would call a "bot". It looks to me like you are allowed to do virtually anything with a bot account, so long as you do not do the things in the "Lichess Bots cannot" section (which I'm guessing is automatically enforced anyhow). If that's not actually true, then the blog post is in dire need of revision.
What are some of the expected benefits of allowing bots to change human's ratings? I think there are many negatives, including those which have already been mentioned here (such as being able to exploit some bots by repeating the same line). But I'm struggling to come up with even a single positive.
@OhNoMyPants
One positive:
Bot developers can now test their programs without accounts getting banned. This should reduce the number of accounts marked as cheaters.
@hangrad

I agree with you, but that's not related to games against bots changing humans' ratings. I'm perfectly fine with bots as well as with games against humans changing [only] the bot's ratings. I just don't see the benefit of having games against bots change the human's rating.
Welcome BOTS.

I have a question, The blog lichess.org/blog/WvDNticAAMu_mHKP/welcome-lichess-bots at the very beginning says:

"Lichess Bots are for:
Connected physical boards"

Anyone can better explain this statement?
Does it mean that a programmer can develop a BOT to connect physical boards like Novag Citrine or DGT?

Thanks in advance
The only one thing I can not understand why bots not allowed to use lobby seeks. For example now if I am looking for some practice variant game against a bot first I have to search for bot list then make a bot a friend to let it shown on online friend list. If bots allowed to use lobby seek I just click on lobby tab and can see _all_ bots offering particular type of game to play.
This feature can enhance bots visibility and other servers (ICC/FICS/chess.com) support this also.
I agree with #18.

Furthermore now I run on a Heroku free account. So I'm permanent up to Heroku time limit ( which is 550 hours a month ).
