Why I don't like zoos

I am opposed to capturing animals and putting them in zoos.

However, releasing animals that were born in captivity into the wild is worse for the animal than the original capturing. So I am okay with zoos featuring those animals.

Also many of the animals that were born in the wild and wind up in zoos are rescues, animals that would not have survived but for human intervention and are now unable to successfully reintegrate into the wild. I am also okay with those animals in zoos.

Most good zoos only have animals in the those two categories. I oppose capturing healthy animals to put them in a zoo, which is where some of the animals come from in unethical zoos.

What always puzzled me, is why people say penguins are only found in the Antarctic. ...there is a massive colony of them in Corstorphine zoo, Edinburgh.

They are also found in the wild in South America.

i have gone to 1 zoo and the animals looked GREAT it is true there are some REALLY REALLY bad zoos but most zoos are good i think.
eagles sit and stare a lot in winter they stare for up to 98% of the day. just like me i stare at my phone for 99% of the day as we all do:(
