Minami Hamabe Three Check System for Black Pieces

Strategy
Hi all! In this blog I'd like to share my experience on three check games variant.

As three check players know that it's hard to balance the advantage for black pieces in three check games, since there's +3 points for white pieces at the start of the game.

During my three check experiences, i prefer to play as solid as possible with black pieces. With Nf6 idea on the first move, following by c6 on the second move. During my games, i had a unique position that gave advantage for black pieces with my opening repertoire.

You can see that in the database at the time of this writings, there's only 6 games played in this specific position on 3 check variant.

And this position was played by me as black pieces against various strong opponents on this variant.

This position gave the result of 67% winning result for black so far. While as you can see on the engine evaluation up there, it's absolutely give advantages for black. And talking about position, it's clearly obvious that black tries to sacrifice the queen by Qxf2+ following by Bc5+. And black's king is completely secure and ready to castle queen side.

If you go back to the previous moves there's a lot of players reached the same moves from move 1 to move 4. But this position is quite unique because instead of Qb6, there's Bc5 first before the move Qb6. And that game played by me :D . The other move is Qxf6 that played by other player.

You may reach this position if your opponent as white pieces tries to reach an open position, hoping that black's king will be vulnerable by taking your e5 and f6 pawns. Instead as you can see there's no single threat for black's king in this position.

As there's a lot of opening lines in three check community, either the position is unnamed or named by the player who found the opening lines, i'll give this position a name called "Minami Hamabe Three Check System for Black Pieces".

I hope you find this blog interesting, especially for those who like to play three check game. You can also have a look at my games on my study page regarding this position on my study called "Minami Hamabe Three Check System for Black Pieces.
