How do you deal with the fact...

You will statistically never be an IM/GM. That your chess is average, that you're average, and hundreds if not thousands of players exist who are objectively superior to you.

This is a hard reality to accept. To accept mediocrity no matter how much you play and study, you know? It makes me sad I will forever be terrible at this game.

Not really, I mean of course we have to excludes things that are tied to your singular existence like being the best at playing a specific game you developed with hundredth of players in total.

I'm average, yes and I'm often glad to be cause being better sometimes also mean being alone. The real downsides is that I'm going to have to make a LOT of effort to get certain things.

“no matter how much you play and study“

~ That’s the reason many don’t become titled players; they think it’s the amount of work they do that matters - when in reality, it’s the quality of it that does.

Great players don’t work a lot; they dedicate small periods of time to fixing their weaknesses, while spending most of their time keeping themselves healthy by exercising and just living life. That way, they avoid burn-out, tilt, and recover faster from those things, as well.

The more you work, the worse you become; the less you work, the better you become.
