Cheaters are Out of Control Today. Is Lichess anti cheating team on vacation today?

1. Cheaters were never in control
2. There is no Lichess anticheat team who works 9-5 or doing shifts, so that ban button can be pressed. It is free site, if there is someone to press that big red button, then there will be ban, if not, enjoy chess as you did before. There is a way to enjoy playing potential cheat as well, unless you are too focused on your preeccciousssssss ring... sorry rating points - which you probably exchange into new car, respect in the community or character upgrade points somewhere, etc. Otherwise you are making yourself sad without a good reason.
3. There is no way to get rid off online cheaters - for now, live with it
4. Not everyone who you think is cheater is actually cheating - but in any case, just use Block button, I am pretty sure you will not block all users of Lichess, there are too many of them. You won't play those "potential" cheaters in the future, if you block them.

That's an interesting project. Maybe a relatively new headache for cheating detectors.

Agreed
@TrainingOTB define "control".

If control is defined as ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for 99.9% of the time, as well as catching offenders sooner or later also 99.9% of the time, then I guess cheating is in pretty good control.

Let's see what we got here and what is the base of the discussion:

12 APR 2024
48 wins1 draw52 losses (Played 101 Bullet games)

9 APR 2024
27 wins4 draws23 losses (Played 54 Bullet games)

7 APR 2024
2 wins (Played 2 Bullet games)

6 APR 2024
39 wins2 draws31 losses (Played 72 Bullet games)

5 APR 2024
35 wins1 draw40 losses (Played 76 Bullet games)

I stop here and don't start counting, where YOUR OPPONENTS "getting blown off the board."

blablabla...
@chesspawn123

Firstly, I have played *MANY* games where I would have reported myself for playing *WAY* above my rating.

And, not just 'reported' for mild suspicion...but I would have been almost completely convinced that I was cheating if I was in my opponent's shoes...and I'd have been 100% wrong, 100% of the time.

So...*EITHER* this is a fact, *OR* your opinion regarding the amount of cheating that's going on, is a fact.

-

Secondly, you seem to be a hair's width away from concluding that 'You're the only one who doesn't cheat, so, really, if you don't cheat, it's like you're cheating yourself; and, why should you be the only one not cheating? And, how about if you don't CHEAT-cheat...but you just run a computer just to see how many there actually are?"

It is irritating to watch the ego set us up like this, where we might be tempted to become a part of the same problem which antagonizes us, and where we might then choose to take part in this obnoxious-ouroboros-self-cannibalizing-carnival-clown-show we got going on out here.

About 98% of the chess world hopes that you do not go that route and choose to turn us into only 97%.

While I recognize that those who've spotlighted this issue are not the problem and have good intentions, we have got to understand what we're doing when we make posts like this:

Have a wonderful day, chess world, and may your pieces find the very best squares!
Totally agree with this:

"4. Not everyone who you think is cheater is actually cheating - but in any case, just use Block button, I am pretty sure you will not block all users of Lichess, there are too many of them. You won't play those "potential" cheaters in the future, if you block them."

You must use the block function, along with reporting suspected cheating to the site. Block the players who have relatively few games, play much better than their rating, and play too fast or too automatic for a real human.
