If I was playing devil's advocate I would answer that this is more an "innocent until proven guilty not once but twice" situation.

When you say there's "no possibility to do so" you probably mean there's no possibility to consider him guilty having known him to be a decent player for so long. Then again, many of us realized in this very thread that he got banned from chess.com in 2013 or so for cheating just as he was recently banned from lichess.

A very decent and ethical player can have a moment of weakness. Specially a player that's more likely to believe they have the knowledge about cheat detection that would be sufficient to use an engine in some games and not get caught, such as a strong chess player and "full-stack developer".

I hope you at least see now how the issue is not as black and white as it seemed at first, if you put yourself in the shoes of a third party and look at this from the outside.

No - I mean the opportunity to defend innocence is not present.

> This person said they were happy you were enjoying this new feature so much but was wondering if you were the original author of all those blogs. You replied linking to your portfolio and this person thanked you. It ended there and took literally 10 minutes.

This sort of washing really reaffirms the decision to leave.

It was not friendly or respectful, it was insulting.
@ShineOnMeCrazyD the fact that this was shared with you is disgusting. Where's the privacy? I don't even know you, how do you know about this conversation?? You were not who messaged me about it. So... my personal messaging.. possibly my work information, and website has been leaked to how many people now????

How is this in any way professional? Paid - volunteer, I don't care, this lack of administration is horrendous considering the amount of players on this site.

And yes - as it seems you've already seen, I was directly asked to provide proof that I wrote what I posted.

I must simply agree. If we assume that he's innocent, a great injustice has taken place and there's no way for him to defend himself.

please don't bring up the vibes of "you defeat a grandmaster, you get banned" (or conversely "if you beat a GM I think you must have cheated"). Guess you have zero idea where the ban came from, it can be any game(s) from the last days or weeks, not even to mention the first link is not a GM game

> how on earth do you think a chess player, a seasoned full-stack developer, that codes for the top chess site in the world... gets flagged for engine-use? Seriously.

> Put aside that the games in mention had nothing suspicious, put aside he's a streamer that has been demonstrating his skill for a decade live, put aside the completely unprofessional messaging and instant closing instead of the flag people usually get, put aside all that --- what logic are you seeing here?

All of this doesn't matter at all. I've heard and even witnessed of cheater streamers who you'd say the exactly same things about, and yet they had cheated with 100% proof. And their supporters are fooled to a high degree.

Come on, disliking my post and complain is everything you can do?? do more! tell your friends to dislike and complain about this in youtube. I said ''perhaps''
What about IMs. Is defeating IMs okay or also a reason to get banned? And what if I draw against a GM but I drank coffee before, is that considered taking "performance enhancing drugs"? Just wanna be very cautious here. @Cedur216 @AzeChessQueen
Maybe we are over complicating arguments here - if you don’t cheat, you won’t get banned @airfloo
