VPN and log in

I am a 80+ year old lichess member, a patron for many years - check my profile. I do use a reliable VPN, not a cheap one. Nevertheless, most of the times access is denied. Had to empty cache as well as cookies for several times, before at random I could log in.
I do understand Lichess is wary about probably unreliable VPN's. Then again: blocking overall accepted VPNs should not be a problem or an issue over here. It's a menace this way. I've donated few minutes ago. Then again, I'd rather delete my account over here rather then accepting this foolish behaviour. I do like Lichess. It's up to them to keep paying members like me to stay around. Fix it!
Bro how you 80+ and still play chess (no offense). I dont know how to fix it.

@FreedBeast219 No offence taken. Old sodiers fade away - as they should. My person included.
VPNs are a difficult thing. Sometimes they work great, sometimes they don't. This goes for serious paid ones as for free ones.

One problem is that many users share the same VPN server, hence for their outward traffic they use the same IP address. VPNs are also often used for shady anonymous operations, so now you are sitting in the same boat with people that many websites don't like.

And if one of the websites (and this includes content provider networks for assets as well) deems your IP unworthy, you have a problem.

You can often observe that google and many other big websites immediately come up with those stupid "I am a human" verification things when you visit them trough a VPN.

Note that as complex websites may deliver their content trough many different servers and services, and it might be enough if one of them "doesn't like your shoes".
Thanks for your gentle reply, @FreedBeast219 . Old age is a matter of decline, and I really do accept that. Once 2100+ ELO, nowadays probably 1300. so be it.

@nadjarostowa: I am perfectly aware how VPNSs do work - I have been involved in setting up several of those. Sure, IP clusters are doomed at times. In general, picking a different server will solve the issue. In my case, this doesn't solve the problem. Although I have been able to log in over here after cleaning caches, deleting cookie(s) and several retries. Point is: it's all at random. Lichess denies access, accepts one and the same retry from one at the same VPN server next try.

Anyway, thanks for jumping in.
Hello, can you be more specific about what does not work when you use your VPN?
@Solal35 , seems to me I have provided all needed info in the meanwhile. Thanks for your interest.
You may have to disable or change your exit node if your VPN uses residential IPs, but afterwards you should be able to re-enable it without issue.

And login is usually an action you do very occasionally if you do not clear cookies.
