I would prefer chess, it helps u in your studies. Unlike chess, soccer is just a hobby. But if your GOOD LIKE FOR YOUR STATE then play as much soccer as u want.
Just a question, what's your position in football/soccer ?

Do you have any time constraints; or other obligations, meaning that you can only choose 1 sport of the two?

Because if you are limited to 1, then the idea becomes given your lifestyle - which sport synergizes better with your life goals?

For example, the point of physical exercise is health; meaning you'll live longer, assuming you don't have major injuries from soccer; soccer would be the better bet, generally.

For example, the point of excercising the mind is; work smarter not harder, as a concept. So, this can be applied to different decisions in life giving you an advantage. This advantage is noteworthy, where Chess would be the better bet in that event.

You might want to be more balanced, if... A) you are naturally smart at your studies, then soccer would be a good fit. B) you are naturally fit and athletic, then Chess would be a good fit.

Also, there is the idea of enhancing your talents, if you are really good at them too. If there's a chance to become a pro-soccer player or a chance to become a pro-chess player, then maybe you want to go for your dreams!
Why not combine the two, i coin the portmanteau "Cheoccer" . :). lol
