Feature idea: force opponent to play only legal move

As far as I know offering draw is also claiming 3x repetition.
Aha, so instead of waiting for the Arena time to run out so the opponent's team doesn't get the points. They should offer a draw and possibly get a point (or even two if in a winning streak) in a lost position. Sweet entitlement.
@Sarg0n I realise that my opponent is entitled to think. But this was obviously a case of unsporting behaviour, and a waste of my time. It was a casual game, so there were no rating points in play, just the time and patience of one's opponent 😅

I'm not sure if I think it should be a feature in rated games / tournaments. This would need some thought. Letting the time run down in an arena is not illegal, so my suggestion could change the balance of late tournament games. And others who have played more tournaments should consider that question.
Actually, letting your time run down can result in an automatic warning from Lichess - not sure what the limits are for how long you have to think to get warned.

It's happened once to one of my opponents, he was desperately trying to find a way out and got interrupted by a warning message, which didn't make him any happier. So, auto-performing the only move seems less of an intrusion to me at least. :)

Anyway, it suggests that already according to Lichess you are not entitled to "think" for as long as you like.
So in a tournament setting, I can see this as an issue as there is only so much time for the whole tournament.

If it is checkmate in 1 and there is only 1 legal move in a casual game, you could just premove the checkmate and do something else while your opponent runs their clock out. That way at least you still win the game assuming the internet doesn't disconnect during the opponent's time.
