this feature is common on the other chess websites. i would like to be able to click on someones name or type a command into a chat window which will allow me to watch all the current games someone plays. i would like for it to automatically follow them as they switch opponents as well.
on the other sites the idea is to follow someone but on this site i can see some confusion as the "follow" label has a unique befriending meaning here.

I agree. I support this idea of being allowed to follow people without manually clicking on their name and game every time they start a new match. Another nice feature this site could implement is chat boxes, so that friends can chat in groups they invite to their chat room.

I just love watching dead forum posts being revived. This feature has already been implemented. To watch player games, go to
lichess.org/@/username/tv or
@username and click the tv icon. Chat feature is also been implemented (Despite them not being timestamped -.-) On mobile devices, use the lichess app to access chat (
http://en.lichess.org/mobile) Otherwise, chat should be visible on desktop browsers :D
