They want to block my nickname

What! Lichess, how is this offensive in any way?
Even if it were offensive, what is this whole thing about closing the account?
Imagine:
You have played 30,000 games, and have achieved the highest rating in your life, then it gets deleted. All your hard work.

I personally find this unacceptable, just make it so that he/she can change his name! What is so bad about changing your name, that you can't allow it?
Is it that cheaters can change their name, and have a clean background? You could put a tag on them or something.

Lichess, I don't understand... every mistake is a chance to learn!
Maybe @loser_abuser could change his name next time.
But honestly, I agree with everyone here that supports him, he should keep his account.
PS I'll send this to @thibault to report the issue.
I am so sorry @Loser_Abuser , I hope you get your account back.

It's just a self-deprecating nickname, self-irony. I had a period in my life when others called me a loser, I had big failures in life. Of course, having got into this situation, I felt very bad, and I began to notice that I was psychologically giving negative things into this world (in certain situations this can be equated with psychological violence). And I got tired of pretending and making excuses, I just said to myself: "If everyone thinks that I'm a loser, okay, so be it." But still, I did not want to make my nickname too serious, so as not to emphasize my utopian state at that time. I was looking for a cute combination of words to make the nickname more interesting and even funny.

In addition, Nickname is just my inner state, very often I was considered a loser, even in real tournaments I was often an underdog (for example, I was not in the top 10 favorites), but this did not stop me from winning (in a sense, this is sports abuse ), and become a regional champion, and so on.

As for online chess, it fits my style of play just as well. I get on tilt very often and losing 4-6 games in a row is a common thing for me, at the same time I often take a berskerk when playing in 30 seconds (and I can take a berskerk against players who have a higher rating than me, I often I take berserkers without even looking at the nickname and rating). I get berserk by playing 15 seconds vs 30 and I'm going to cut down the flag, isn't that an abuse?)
One way or another, this nickname is associated only with me. This is a completely autobiographical reflection of my inner state, self-irony and how I feel about life. The abuser is me, the loser is me too.

And I see no reason to block this nickname if someone does not like these words, because these words do not apply to my opponents in any way.

And the word "depression", "evil", "killer" and so on? A huge number of words that are no better than the word abuse ... Why should I suffer because someone mistook the words at their own expense? ...

Oh .. However, blocking the three-year-old account in which I put my soul into it will once again confirm the fact that I am a loser (unsuccessful attempt at self-irony)

Upon review, we did not find your name acceptable to be seen by our userbase. Since it is not technically possible to change usernames on lichess, this account will have to be closed within the next 48 hours. You may use this time to, for example, download the games you played on this account or create a new one. We hope that you understand this decision. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and would appreciate if you continue playing on our site on a new account. If you do wish to create a new account, please choose an acceptable username."

> Who finds my nickname offensive? I'm not even asking the administration, I want to hear from ordinary users. Please write your opinion on this event. This is an ordinary nickname, with a rhyme in a nutshell, it did not have any offensive character, many users saw humor in it, but today they want to delete it.

I suppose he never called his opponent a loser
how will lichess feel if in future anyone would buy the internet and ask to change its name by making a whole new website ? lichess has made it too late and thus should itself evolve a technology to change @Loser_Abuser 's username .

> Loserabuser has been a consistent competitive and normal player with a good sportsmanship record on this site. Unheard-of to do this. Can they just not change their username. Lichess has had a suggestion for this way back in 2021 According to Google... Seems to be easier.... They also have been on this site for years... Why just now doing this,???

At some point, Lichess will have to redesign its architecture to allow name changes (and reuse old ones). I'm a bit surprised there isn't an open github issue to do this.-#22 @mcgoves

thus should itself evolve a technology to change +Loser_Abuser 's username -#37 @TheLuckyBrain

if you read the that post you would understand that it would not be easy to change every instance of his name in all chats games etc. Simple beacuse there is not one big database for all the chats and also changing a name would require alot of performance to do considering how many names we have to change. Idk why its only know but also good player or not does not change how the rules work for names
This hurts so much. Almost 60k arena points on this account.

Like I understand they want to not allow some names but why do they suddenly get to make this decision after ALMOST THREE YEARS of this account's existence?

Time to start playing Minesweeper if this really happens...

@Loser_Abuser try the appeal.
