Dear Lichess mods, if you don't mind I will have this as my personal feedback thread that I'm going to write my ideas about Lichess, whenever I have an idea or a feedback.
As a matter of fact I did actually have a text file on my computer where I kept my feedback/ideas about lichess. But I was just too lazy to make threads about them so I was accumulating them basically to post in one thread later on. There were probably more than 20 different entries, most of them being small improvements and about bugs etc, but unfortunately I lost the file after a laptop fail and don't even remember most of the stuff.
Anyway this thread would also prevent such fails so I hope it's not a problem against forum rules. I will number my ideas here also, so it would be easier to talk about them if needed.
And lastly please bear in mind that I have no idea about coding/designing and developing a website, so if any of my suggestions is very difficult, stupid or not worthy to implement, you can just ignore them, I have the utmost respect for the developers and the mods of Lichess and of course for Thibault.
So here we go:
1) Lichess does not remember the board size of your preference. I think it's really annoying for people who regularly clean their browser cache.
2) Notification about "online friends" is probably the most irritating thing on the website for me. I'm sure it's plenty useful for the people who actually use or need it but I doubt that all of us in that group. The worst thing about it is it just doesn't go away even in the Kid Mode.
3) Ability to bookmark puzzles "directly" would be very very useful. I use browser bookmarks but it is not practical at all, also tried bookmarking the games which the puzzle comes from but it's also not direct enough and very useful for me .
4) A board theme rotator could be a fantastic tool. Lately I noticed that I get very uncomfortable on boards with different color schemes other than my default lichess theme. So I tried an experiment and changed my lichess theme to the next theme each time I logged in . It was quite difficult and uneasy at first but after a while I was not disturbed by any board color again at all. So a theme rotator would be a nice lichess tool to do this automatically on specific settings the player chooses and help a player to learn not to get affected by different board setups.
5) Lichess does not perform equally well in portable browsers as it does in regular firefox or chrome. It gets laggy and sometimes just does not function at all for brief moments. I'd think this is not something that lichess team could fix but I wanted to write it anyway.
