An other 2100+ victim of the Tennison gambit

wow it looks soo lethal, im sure gonna give it a try next time i meet a scandi! thanks for sharing
Several lines of Tennison gambit are kind of "Hope chess" lines.
Hoping for weak moves from the opponent to win in "brilliant" style.
Check the opening databases and you will find that black wins a lot (e.g. >60%) in some lines.

Of course it is nice to win against unprepared or sleepy 2100+ players, but that's no reason to play this gambit imho.

YMMV

These topics are annoying. You should not make fun of people on the losing side; have some respect, chess is a gentlemen sport!

How would you like a 1100 player mocking you for dropping a Q in 1 0 game? Think about that
He is showing alot of respect, he made this thread because he was happy to have beaten a good player, therefore attributing great respect to his opponent
p.s who said chess was a gentleman's game anyway?
I meant no disrespect whatsoever. When you're happy about something you usually want to share. That's just what I wanted to do here.

I also thought the Tennison gambit is an interesting one, and a bit overlooked. So I kind of like to make people know about it.

Personally I like it first because it allowed me to have quite a few quick wins, and also because the Scandinavian is otherwise quite forcing and I don't like to be drawn into my opponent's territory. Even if it's theoretically inferior, it's entertaining at my level and it even sometimes work against 2000+ players.

Chess is both black and white, not one or the other.

Chess is the gentlemen's way of waging war, it's the polite way of picking a fight.
